SEGMENTED ROLLER BRUSHES

Cylindrical brushes are sometimes difficult to load onto a shaft, especially if the brush body is quite long. For such cases we have developed a solution, which has found its way into production plants for good. The solution offered by us is 100 mm long, which makes the replacement of whole brush much easier. Additionally, it may happen that only a part of the roller brush is destroyed. The segmental system makes it possible to replace only the damaged part.

Scheme of the construction of cylindrical brushes cut (punched with bunches)

The most common roller brushes found commonly are the ones with a plastic body construction. The body is drilled and filling material is clamped into the new created holes.

To be able to correctly design and manufacture a brush, it is necessary to determine its density and filling arrangement. The density of a brush is determined by several parameters, including the diameter of the bunch, the number of bunches around the perimeter of the body, and the number of bunches along the length of the body. The type and diameter of the filling material can also affect the density.

The soUNIQ, unlike most manufacturers and dealerships, does not indicate a typology of sizes as it offers its tools to customers in every industry. This requires an individual approach because the requirements are too specific. We try to adapt to our customers and not the other way around.

Diversity in Brush Segments

CONSTRUCTION

Similarly to the brushes of typical construction, segmental brushes have a comparable design. The connection system, so-called teeth, makes them different. The construction is simple and additionally correlates with the number of bunches on the circumference - the brush density. As the only company on the European market, we have the possibility of changing the body color, which can be very important for some industries.

The soUNIQ company as one of the few companies involved in the design and manufacture of brush segments, has the ability of running special production orders, for non-standard dimensions. The only difficulty the customer should face is economically justified size of the order, which requires the preparation of projects, special moulds and an individual approach to such case.

MOUNTING

The segment system is equipped with a clamping system. At the ends of the segments we add a special ring for fixing the roller brush with a rotary shaft.

The standard dimensions of the clamping rings are 25 mm wide and are adapted to the bodies (diameter and number of teeth). The rings are equipped with 3 Allen screws, which are used for fixing the whole brush to the shaft.

APPLICATION

Segmental brushes can be used wherever standard roller brushes are used. However, it should be noted that the reasonablenes of this option starts with the size of the shaft, which should consist of at least two segments. Consequently, the shaft should be at least 250 mm long, accommodating 2 segments and two clamping rings. Segmental brushes perform well in demanding applications such as vegetable rubbers and polishers.
